Portfolio// Jonathan Ward London designs are a huge success

The launch of the new candle collection by Jonathan Ward London has gone down a storm and praise has been given for the print that defines each fragrance, designed by myself. Needless to say i am over the moon with the results and wish Jonathan the best of luck with sales of the gorgeous Russian inspired scents.

My surface pattern designs adorn the outer packaging, the luxurious inner box and embossed in gold on the front of each box is an illustration reflecting each fragrance.

Portfolio// Surface Pattern Design

A very creative surface design project is underway for Jonathan Ward London. I have a lot to live up to as the brand is so beautiful but I have been asked to use my textile design skills to design some surface pattern designs for packaging. I have the brief and the research is underway. Very excited and as always I want to put my all into this project so I am also rather nervous!

You can see my initial development here to get a taste of how I start the design process. I have no doubt that the end results will be different to this though. As the creative juices start flowing the ideas evolve, and evolve, and evolve! It's nice to keep track of the development work to remind me of the efforts put in and the journey I've taken.

Craftnet// How to plan the town of craft

As textile design is my specialism and a true passion I'm looking forward to attending a Craftnet conference next week that focuses on accentuating the role of crafts in towns.

CraftNet is an informal network in which meetings, events and exchange can take place, to look at and share ways of developing and promoting craft across the sector. I'm hoping to gain valuable insight into how textile design and other crafts can benefit communities and be recognised as culturally significant.

// Divine and Thread Contract

I met Anna Del Mar, founder of Divine and Thread, over a year ago so I was flattered when she contacted me last month to discuss a possible contract. After re-introducing her fab concept to me I was keen to accept her invitation to contribute as a writer to the magazine style site on a weekly basis. And even better, I get to write about what I love most - fashion, textiles and all things style.

The site is not live yet but promises to be an excellent source for inspiration, information and style. i'll keep you posted.

// New Website Launched...

// BigSky Navigation Brand Identity Underway...

BigSky Navigation, a marine navigation company, was looking for a brand identity with which to launch the new business.

Working in close contact with Steve Arnott (Managing Director) I have produced a logo and brand identity to reflect the business' unique vision with plenty of personality to boot.

BigSky has also comissioned the design and build of its website, which will promote services, training and marine navigation products. Although I'm not a 'marine bod' I have been excited by this project from the off.

See the results on the portfolio page...
