Contemporary fashion designer studying a practice based MA in Fashion Design at Winchester School of Art, having achieved a 2:1 in Digital Textile Design for Fashion at Chelsea College of Art and Design, University of the Arts, London.

Currently taking an experimental, process-led approach to pattern cutting in a postgraduate fashion collection focussing on the conceptual intent of design.  Has a sophisticated understanding of the contemporary fashion cycle, the market and trends.  Especially skilled in the digital arts including print design for fashion and experienced in business and marketing.

Aspirations of working for the garment design department of a high-end fashion house upon graduating and hoping to secure a work placement in the design department of a fashion house before August 2010.

Graphic Designer
Initially on a full time contract, glow supported my decision to pursue a career in the fashion industry accommodating my studies and offering me a part time contract.  A portfolio of the graphic design I have worked on whilst at glow can be seen at http:/theglowstudio.com/miniportfolio.pdf.  This work includes the development of brand identity, marketing strategy, corporate literature, copywriting, digital design and PR in a variety of industries.  I also completed a business, finance and marketing qualification whilst working at glow and have gained experience in accounts management, finance and admin.

Shop Manager and Graphic Designer
Initially a work placement, whilst studying for my BA(hons) at Chelsea College of Art and Design, London, the owner of this fashion boutique offered me a part time role as shop manager and graphic designer. Duties included: assisting on buying trips at trade shows such as Pure in Olympia; visual merchandising of the store; coordinating the Marketing and PR of the business through fashion shows, charity events, preview evenings, promotions, discounts and the design and build of a company website and monthly newsletters.

Temporary administration role. The running of a busy construction site reception.  General office duties included minute taking, diary management, stationary orders, filing and database management.

Footwear Manager
I managed the men’s footwear department for this high street store for 7 months. The role involved the management of staff, stock room and sales targets. I also adopted the role of ‘Visual Merchandiser’ for our branch due to staff shortages.
